Quietly Good Design →
I LOVE the new Coke can. Great design. My favorite can in a long, long time. I point this out and people look at me like I’m crazy, but in a world as fucked as this you’ve got to embrace the little things. Like good soda can design.
In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like...

Neighbors
These are all shot with my medium format cameras (these particular ones with one of my Holgas). I’m starting to prefer to scan the prints instead of the negatives because the printer at Samy’s does a lot of work to correct the really erratic exposures I get with these kinds of cameras. The film is some variety of Fuji Velvia that’s been cross-processed to get the wild color...
Apple: The good, the bad, the totally fuckin'...
The Good: I like Apple in general. I’m not a zealot or anything, but I dig on their products. I appreciate good design. So far so good. The Bad: A) Time Capsule sucks. So does Time Machine. They don’t really work and have been causing me (and a lot of others) some hassles lately. B) Yesterday I decided to forcefully eject my iPhone from my hand onto the floor of the OSH in...
Let's Review: Politics
I’ll try and break this down since I am notoriously verbose: The media shapes public opinion in political campaigns (especially Presidential campaigns). The traditional media has been marginalized by the Internets (and is getting more and more marginalized). Old narratives are therefore weaker, and candidates who truly represent change can rise up without playing into the tired gutters in...
Ummm....
Wait… what… Hillary Clinton is still in this race? That’s cute. I haven’t written in this space about her lately, but she still TOTALLY SUCKS. It’s awesome that she’s basically trying to destroy the party now. She’s totally weakening the candidate that will clearly get the nomination (not to mention the greatest candidate in well over 20 years)....

Never EVER buy Canon Printing Products →
They basically built into a line of printers (including my PiXMA iP6600D) a system so that after a certain number of prints the OEM ink tanks go bad so they can sell you new ones (which cost as much as the printer). I guess this is to prevent people from using after market Ink refilling systems and cartridges. FUCK CANON.

Ryan Adams Gets Rad →
You seriously can’t even quantify how awesome it is to read Ryan Adam’s blog on a regular basis. The unintentional comedy meter is solidly pegged in the red. I’m a big fan of his music and his blog material (and music I guess) runs the gamut from legitimately genius to self-indulgent and pretentious. It’s awesome. He’s a hero. Keep on keeping on Ryan.
New Jaws Attacks! Tumblr Site →
This will be the new official Jawsattacks.com as soon as the DNS transfer is complete. It’s a custom theme powered by Tumblr. I whipped up the theme last night. The Jaws debut record is now available on a variety of music stores (iTunes, Amazon MP3, Indistr). Check it out and add it to your follow list! Don’t forget to re-subscribe to the new RSS feed since that’s where all...

Clark as Obama's VP?
A friend of mine that is helping the Obama campaign seems to think Wes Clark will be Obama’s running mate. This might make sense to me if Wes Clark wasn’t a huge Clintonite and has been actively campaigning for Hillary. Is there something I’m missing here?

Politics in the last 10 days
I left the country about 11 days ago and got back Saturday. There seems to be very little that has transpired in that time in the American political scene. The story-lines, narratives and rhetoric haven’t moved one bit. I really don’t understand why Hillary is still in this race. I guess it is worth holding on in case some major catastrophe befalls Barack Obama, but if he can...
