I shoot film, tweak pixels and write songs. I live in California, near Santa Barbara. Climbing rocks. Surfing waves. I have a lot of odd cameras, old guitars and loud amps. Sometimes I throw up a mic and make some songs. The last project I released was called Jaws with friends of mine from Lagwagon, RKL and Bad Astronaut. Sometimes I sporadically post about the LA Lakers at another Tumblr called The Drunken Audible. I post images I capture at my flickr site.

The Dictatorship of Talent

David Brooks strikes again with a look at why he thinks China will have difficulty competing with the West in the Information economy. I think he’s spot on. It reminds me of what Chris Anderson said recently on Charlie Rose. I forget what his exact quote was, but to paraphrase he basically said everything he thinks about the new world economy is on the back of an iPod: ”Designed in California, Manufactured in China”.
