Let's Review: Politics
I’ll try and break this down since I am notoriously verbose:
- The media shapes public opinion in political campaigns (especially Presidential campaigns).
- The traditional media has been marginalized by the Internets (and is getting more and more marginalized).
- Old narratives are therefore weaker, and candidates who truly represent change can rise up without playing into the tired gutters in which traditional media narratives tend to flow.
- Barack Obama (and to a degree John McCain) is the first Presidential candidate to truly take advantage of this new paradigm.
