Let’s Review: Politics

I’ll try and break this down since I am notoriously verbose:

  1.  The media shapes public opinion in political campaigns (especially Presidential campaigns).
  2. The traditional media has been marginalized by the Internets (and is getting more and more marginalized).
  3. Old narratives are therefore weaker, and candidates who truly represent change can rise up without playing into the tired gutters in which traditional media narratives tend to flow.
  4. Barack Obama (and to a degree John McCain) is the first Presidential candidate to truly take advantage of this new paradigm.
Thanks Internets!  You continue to make the world a better place.
